Awakening Hearts

Many ladies from Living Waters have just ended a six-week class that we provided called Awakening Hearts.  Over the years we have had a class called Whole Hearts, and as we entered into 2022, we felt the Lord say that we were going even deeper and to change the name.  Awakening Hearts was exactly how we went deeper over the course of this class.

As our team prepared for each class, we waited for instructions from the Lord on what direction to take.  He told me at the beginning of this class that He would give us each week as it came and not the whole picture.  I believe that is because I am a planner and can easily run ahead instead of staying in step with what He is doing.

Week by week, Holy Spirit encountered each of the women in attendance.  Not only did we have incredible teachings from our team, but then we would practice sitting in the presence of the Lord and listening to what He had for each one of us.  It was powerful, it was stretching and it was always an invitation to go deep.   Women were learning how to hear Holy Spirit and interact with Him.  Some even heard Him for the first time.

Along with the teaching time, these women would meet together in small groups and build relationships – and for women, that is not always an easy thing.  We saw so many relationships start out of this time – it was incredible!  I love how Holy Spirit sets us up in these groups and relationships start that was totally unexpected.

The very last class was something we didn’t see coming but couldn’t wait to partner with Holy Spirit in.  What we saw the theme of this class really coming to was each of us taking our seat at His table.  There is a song on the new Lion album from Maverick City Music and Elevation Worship called, “The One You Love” and a line in the song says

You take me just as I am
You’d choose me all over again
I am the one You love, I am the one You love
I don’t have to prove anything
There’s room at Your table for me
I am the one You love, I am the one You love

Over and over women were being invited to take their seat at His table and to know that it only belonged to them, no one else.  They were invited to be themselves and to be confident in who He says they are and to confidently take their seat.

When they got to the class this past Tuesday, they were invited into a beautifully set room that had a banquet table set for 60 women.  Black and gold filled the room as ladies were ushered in and invited to take their seat.  Each place setting had each of their names along with a gift and a prophetic word.  The table was filled with a variety of food and drinks, all for them to enjoy as we spent an evening connecting with each other and sharing testimonies of what He had done in us over the past few months.  Extravagant was what described the night.  He wanted to love on each one of us extravagantly and I believe every one of us walked out of there feeling that.

Looking over the past few months and hearing the testimonies of all He had done in our hearts, I am in awe of the one we get to partner in life with.  Holy Spirit is our true love, our one and only, our comforter, our friend, and the one we can always lean upon.  I look forward to what is to come when we do this class again.  I just know that it can only get better as we keep following His lead.

Within our stories lies the power we need to overcome. Some of us struggle to recognize the overcoming power in our own story, as so many of them still hold loose ends, moments of intense loss, or perhaps unanswered questions. Paul so beautifully reminds us that it is “in our weakness” that Jesus is seen and made strong- and so therefore we can boast in our weakness! It is often our own stories of brokenness and pain that Jesus rides in with overcoming power.

New Year. New Ground.

You could see that upfront people were getting slammed into the gates and security was doing their best to stop the situation.  At that point a couple of ambulances showed up and started taking people to the hospital – I think I heard that 6 people ended up with internal bleeding and some with broken arms.  It was nuts!

Will You Be Like Joshua?

Can you imagine what Moses must have been feeling when he announced to the Israelites that the Lord was putting before them the most incredible land to live in, flowing with milk and honey, and they said they wouldn’t go because it was going to be too hard?
