Lesson 1 of 1

Remembering God’s Faithfulness

Kim Butcher January 5, 2025

As we step into 2025, let’s pause to reflect on where God has met us in 2024 and prepare our hearts for what He has ahead. Just like the Israelites in Joshua 3-4, we’re invited to build “memorial stones”—reminders of God’s faithfulness, provision, and miracles along the way.

In this message, we take time to:

  • Remember God’s goodness and write down the ways He’s been at work in our lives.
  • Treasure those moments, just like Mary, and ponder His faithfulness in our hearts.
  • Seek His voice for what He’s inviting us into this year.

Key takeaways:

  1. Remember God’s Faithfulness – Reflect on the ways God has worked in your life over the past year, even in the midst of challenges. Writing these moments down helps you build “memorial stones” that remind you of His provision and goodness.
  2. Treasure and Ponder – Like Mary, take time to treasure what God has done and ponder His faithfulness in your heart. These moments build your faith and help you trust Him for what’s ahead.
  3. Step Into the New Year with Trust – Just as the Israelites followed God’s presence across the Jordan, we are called to trust His lead, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. Lean on His voice as you walk into the new year.
  4. Live with Intentional Gratitude – Practicing gratitude helps shift your perspective from fear and doubt to trust and expectation. Recognizing God’s past faithfulness strengthens your faith for the future.
  5. Set Intentions with God – Take time to ask God what He has for you in the new year. Whether it’s a word, a focus, or a specific direction, listen and surrender to His plans, trusting that He will guide you step by step.
