The Practice of Service

ServiceIn a culture of injustice and division, Jesus calls His followers to live a different way—through the practice of Service.

This message in our Foundations series reminds us that service isn’t about proving ourselves to God or performing for others. It’s about becoming people of love for the sake of the world. Like fascia in the body, service connects to every other practice—Sabbath, prayer, fasting, Scripture, community, and witness—all flowing outward in love.

Jesus Himself said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). True service means choosing humility over power, compassion over anger, and self-giving over self-promotion.
