Support For the Robinson’s Mission in Jamaica
Last Sunday, we gathered around Skip and Janice Robinson to pray as Skip prepares to head to Jamaica from September 2nd to 18th (with travel days on the 1st and 19th). While there, he will assess the damage inflicted by Hurricane Beryl in July and begin crucial repair work. The Robinsons have faithfully served their community in Jamaica for over 20 years, and many of their friends have had the roofs ripped off their homes and other significant damages.
Skip will be hiring two friends to help repair a louver and clean up his upper property, which has been affected by fallen and broken trees, brush, and scattered boards from his old outhouse. In addition, he plans to pay for materials and labor to assist several families in need:
- Karesha and Richard’s Partial Roof Replacement: $330 for materials and $500 for labor. They have three children.
- Rebuilding Peter and Pauline’s Grocery Shop: Skip will contribute $740 towards this project, with an additional $260 donated by his son’s company.
- Vannie and Tonko’s Roof Replacement: Skip previously helped cement one room, and they are now deciding whether to use metal for the new roof.
- Ned’s Prostate Cancer Treatment: $350 for the treatment session in November, plus $50 for transportation. Skip purchased his property from Ned’s father nearly 25 years ago.
- Gaysha’s Roof Replacement: $500 in labor costs. Her family has gathered enough money for materials, and Skip will assist with the labor costs.
The total amount needed for these efforts is $2,470.
We were able to bless Skip and Janice with $500 from our missions fund, but we need your help to match that and more! Please consider partnering with the Robinsons financially as they prepare to repair the damage, rebuild the places of community, and share the love of Jesus Christ in Jamaica.
