Lesson 5 of 8
In Progress

That They May Be Formed

Ryan Rhoden July 2, 2025

As we continue walking through Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer in John 17, we’re invited into one of the most sacred moments in all of Scripture. On the night before the cross, Jesus doesn’t just speak to His disciples, He speaks to the Father. And we get to listen in.

Jesus prays that they would be kept in God’s name (v. 11), filled with His joy (v. 13), sanctified in truth (v. 17), and sent into the world just as He was (v. 18).

He asks the Father not to take them out of the world, but to form them in it. This prayer of formation is meant to set us apart, not to avoid the world, but to be ready for it. Formation takes time, intention, and trust.

That’s why this week’s crafted prayer practice focused on letting the Word shape us for our own personal transformation and for Kingdom purposes. Because transformed people, transform people.
