Understanding Your Inheritance

Ryan Rhoden March 12, 2024

As followers of Jesus, we have been blessed with an incredible inheritance. We are called to live in the fullness of God’s presence and power, overflowing to the world around us. This is the foundation of our identity and purpose. When we seek God first and discover who we are in Him, it naturally leads us to the question of what we should do with all that we’ve been given. It’s not just about receiving, but also about stewarding our inheritance.

Jesus has made us worthy to be heirs and co-heirs with Him. We have a heavenly Father who has given us an inheritance to access and bring the reality of His kingdom to earth. This is why Jesus taught us to pray, ‘Your will be done, Your kingdom come.’ The Holy Spirit is the key to unlocking our inheritance. He dwells in us and empowers us to live out our purpose. As followers of the way of Jesus, we have surrendered our lives to Him and have been adopted into sonship and daughtership.

We must constantly renew our minds with the truth of God’s Word. It is through this scriptural truth that we understand the depth of our inheritance and the responsibility that comes with it. Our inheritance is not just for our own benefit, but for the advancement of God’s kingdom. We are co-heirs with Christ and partakers in every spiritual blessing. With great power comes great responsibility.

In Romans 12, Paul encourages us to lay down our lives as a living sacrifice. This is our act of worship to God. We are called to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and surrender everything to Him. Nothing disqualifies us from walking in our kingdom purpose. The only thing that holds us back is choosing to live in the pigpen of our past instead of embracing our inheritance.

We have a call, a purpose, an assignment, and a commissioning. It is up to us to decide what we will do with all that we’ve been given. Let the fullness of the Holy Spirit move in and through us as we restore inheritances and bring forth new ideas.

Thank you for joining us on this journey of discovering and living in the fullness of God’s inheritance. May we all embrace our identity as heirs and co-heirs with Christ, and may His kingdom come in and through us.
