Remembering the Good Things
Hi Church,
Sometimes things take longer than you expect. In some ways, I have felt like the last year or so I was robbed of many things. But, Yesterday I was challenged to remember the good things, the things I can be thankful for, & the process.
As I was stuck in traffic, I felt my eyebrows get heavy, my mouth side smirk, and that feeling of “GAAAR!” come to mind and mouth. Just at that moment, a song came on in my car called ‘In Over my head’ by Jenn Johnson. I was stuck long enough to listen to the whole song.
Here are some of the lyrics:
Would you come and tear down the boxes
That I have tried to put you in
Let love come teach me who you are again
Take me back to the place
Where my heart was only about you
And all I wanted was just to be with you
It might take a school bus & a garbage truck for God to get my attention, but He got me!. God reminded me at that moment to get rid of my complaint and shift back into what He has done and has promised for me. My mind shifted, my facial expression changed, and my heart was super weirdly happy. If you’re having a hard time mentally or you are discouraged, I encourage you to stop, remember what God has done and who you really are, and let Holy Spirit have a moment with you.
THEN GO TELL SOMEONE THAT GOODNESS! They probably need to hear it right now.
