The Kingdom On Earth as it is in Heaven
This past Sunday I prayer walked the Great Room. If you have not yet signed up for access to the building for prayer walking, I highly suggest it! Ryan reached out to those who are participating in “on sight prayer times” with great encouragement and insight into the purpose of prayer walking. If you sign up, I’m sure you will get the email 🙂
As I walked and read the prophetic prayers and verses, I asked God to ignite my imagination and bring to mind specific words and images that would direct my prayers in alignment with his heart. That is exactly what happened while I pictured him walking with me across the floor.
One of the words he emphasized to me was “prepare”. I know the room is being prepared. I know there are contributions to the completion of the project that are being prepared. After I walked, I knew I was being prepared. Prayer, like all good conversations, is mutually impactful. The words I speak out influence the space around me. Simultaneously, I am being transformed into one who will be at home in this Great Room.
The Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven is now, not just when the room is done.
My kids and I read a book series called The Tales of the Kingdom. It’s an imaginative representation of a people who are citizens of “Bright City” (which represents the kingdom of God) and the way they bring their city to the place where darkness rules, called the “Enchanted City”. The people go and spend time in Bright City to build relationship with their King, discover their real names, and their gifts (intimacy, identity, inheritance!!). Then they are given assignment to take their true selves to impact Enchanted City. Once the people are living and working in Enchanted City, they began transporting actual, physical parts of Bright City to the broken areas of Enchanted City.
I am praying this week for all of us as we continue to work through Still Life and establish intimacy, identity and discover inheritance. We are inhabited by the kingdom. The Great Room is the way we bring physical representation of the Kingdom to a place we can see, but the Kingdom only comes when its citizens express their identity and inheritance! Only when we are prepared can we partner with preparing the Great Room.
Specific prayers for our family this week:
- We are inviting people to come in their identity and with their inheritance to participate in the physical representation of the Kingdom in the Great Room. This stems from intimacy! We can ask and ask for help and donations, but when the Spirit speaks through intimacy and invites participation, it’s totally different. Pray for our church family and extended family to be immersed in intimacy! Then our Great Room, furnished or carpeted or not, will be inhabited by the Kingdom of God.
- Pray for more prayers 🙂 Take a prayer walk either on your own or with your spouse or a friend or your kids. Read the prayers and prophecies and verses. Let God stir your heart!
- Keep praying for the financial points sent last week.
Thank you, Sommer, for sharing this. Such beautiful sentiments.🤍 Has me tearing up a couple hundred miles away as I think of the goodness and faithfulness of God that allows us to hope in what He’s doing and rejoice in what’s been done!!
